I am having trouble getting my backup to complete. It was completing correctly 2 weeks ago, but some plugins and size of the db has changed. I have the latest version of updraft and wp and it is on a dedicated server at siteground. Here is what I have done so far:
1. Added define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘1024M’ ); above /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ in the wp-config file
2. Changed the setting to be Split archives every 75 MB

Hi – I’ve been using this plugin successfully for years with an S3-compatible setup. I’ve found that on WP installations that are updated to WP 5.3, they have stopped working and can’t access the bucket correctly.

I’ve confirmed this by taking an installation on 5.2.3, going to the Settings tab within UpdraftPlus, and clicking the Test S3 Settings. It works perfectly on 5.2.3, but after updating to WP 5.3 (and the latest version of Updraft) it complains that it can’t access the bucket.

I have logs I can provide if I can do that privately – just let me know where to send. I’ve changed the hostnames in the info below.

The error seems to be combining the S3 end-point name with the first part of the S3 location, because these are the settings:

S3 location: bucketname/backup
S3 end-point: s3.mgmt.mydomain.com

And when I click Test Settings, I get this error:

As you can see from the above, it’s adding the first part of the s3 location to the hostname and complaining that no certificate exists.

Anyway, again I do have logs I can provide if that helps – please just let me know how I can send them.

Hi,

I’m trynig to use the S3 backup and also have AWS for WordPress plugin installed.

When I have the AWS plugin activated it errors when I press “Test S3” button, but when I deactivate it the button works.

I suspect this is because you’re not checking to see if there is an existing S3 client activated before you call your customised S3 wrapper.

Hello, my problem is that I install updraftplus to make a backup copy of my website and when entering the configuration of the plugin it means “Updraftplus backups” sends me to the logon page of my hosting service (AWARDSPACE) And no I know what to do I hope for a quick help, thank you.

I had a site on Kinsta and just transferred this to my server on Inmotion. On Kinsta, you cannot installed Updraftplus. It shows a BANNED text on the button to download and install it. When I transferred the site to Inmotion and tried to download and install Updraft, the BANNED text still appears on top of the button to download and install the plugin. I thought i could use a workaround by downloading the plugin from Updraft’s site and manually uploading it via FTP. However, when I checked the admin to activate the plugin, instead of showing Activate, it shows BANNED.
How can I remove this BANNED functionality and get Updraft installed and activated?

Hey,

I haven’t used the free version for a while now, but after one of my clients told me that they received lots of reporting emails from the plugin, I realized that it’s not possible to activate only error reporting emails. Do I misunderstand this? Both receiving no reports at all and receiving success reports all the time (and thus losing attention to the reports) is a risk when it comes to backup security.

I am running PHP 7-71 (7.1.32) presently. If I update to any higher version my site throws errors. Could this be this plugin? I am asking as the PHP Compatibility Checker seems to be unable to scan it and/or seems to think it is not working properly.

I am currently trying to restore my website using Updraft and I am repeatedly getting this error message.
Move /home2/onestcr3/public_html/justanothermomentco/wp-content/mu-plugins -> /home2/onestcr3/public_html/justanothermomentco/wp-content/mu-plugins-old: Failed. Destination Directory UID=2134, GID=2133. Effective/real user IDs of the current process: 2134/2134. Effective/real group IDs of the current process: 2133/2133.

I have tried deleting old directories and trying again, and different back-ups but still encountering this problem.

The program is fine and does what it states.

However, I agree with another poster that your reminder to update, which cannot be dismissed, is annoying. Annoying.

I was going to update but the 40% coupon on this page, https://updraftplus.com/renewing-updraftplus-purchase/ , is not working.

Can you either provide a working coupon or tell me how to disable what I consider to be nagware? As in not be able to dismiss it.

Hello team,

Today I was looking over the WordPress logs and I found out that the Updraftplus is not invoking properly mysqldump command if the port number is attached to the hostname.

I don’t plan to remove the port number from there since this is a WordPress feature.
Could anyone help me with this issue, please?

We are in the process of adding all our sites to updraft plus and most are working as expected, but we are a few persons in the company who should be able to access the same sites on our updraft plus central. It seems like sites added by one user are only manageable from that one user, how do we give another user access to manage the same sites? (Is it possible to set a manager role or something?)

We were attempting to migrate images from one site that is backed up with Updraft to another site also on our backdraft account. We essentially JUST wanted to add images from the old side to the current site.

We used the “Restore” feature in the Updraft dashboard of the current site, selected the appropriate backup from the old site, and at one point it asked us to remove the uploads old in order to clear the way for the restore. We obviously were confused about this. So all the images from the current site were moved to:
…wp-content > updraft > uploads-old

We need to move them back to:
…wp-content > uploads

The site in question is http://mystere.life

Is there a way to do this all at once via the Updraft plugin. Or is my best bet just to move all the respective “year” folders in “wp-content > updraft > uploads-old” back to “wp-content > uploads”?

Since Nov 16, in all my sites, DreamObjects fails to be connected for uploading backups from UpdraftPlus plugin. I contacted Dreamhost and they suggested today to check in the expert options the “do not verify SSL certificates” option. So I did and it solved the problem. In Dreamhost they claim that the problem is not at their side. The wrote:

Reviewing the error message
you shared with us during your Live Chat session, it looks like
UpdraftPlus isn’t using path-style connections (i.e.
‘objects-us-east-1.dream.io/xxx.com/’) which is causing the SSL
certificate to not match (since it is only valid for
‘*.objects-us-east-1.dream.io’ and not ‘*.*.objects-us-east-1.dream.io’).

I am not so happy with checking the “do not verify SSL certificates” – and it seems that finding the problem is something between UpdraftPlus and Dreamhost. I will be happy if you can check it with them.

I’ve used UpdraftPlus successfully in the past, but I keep getting the error notices that it is unable to backup my site. It says “The backup has not finished.” and “waiting until scheduled time to retry because of errors.” I’ve tried at least 3 times per day for two weeks, and I’ve reduced my backup archives split to 25mb. Please help. I’m trying to backup before downloading the new wordpress 5.3.

Hi, i backed up the page and wanted to restore it. After restoring the page, the following message appeared: W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /wp-content/advanced-cache.php.
nothing happens after deleting this file. In addition, the page is “clean” has removed everything … There are no plugins, themes … only the “upload” directory.
Do you have an idea to solve this problem?

I removed the code from the wp-config file

The entire backup process works, but at the end there is a message that I do not have permission to the page and an error in the console: Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)

For this one site of mine I find that there are multiple backups being done each day. Like 6, 7, 10 times. It’s taking up space in my DropBox account and I have to delete the redundant backups from the WordPress dashboard. Why is the site being backed up multiple times each day and how can I prevent it from happening?
