Multiple DB Backups during Full Backup

So I have UpdraftPlus setup to do a daily DB backup and a weekly full backup to Google Drive. The daily DB backups work fine, but when there’s a full backup happening, I get 4 additional daily DB backups run. As a result after the weekly full backup I’m only left with the current day’s DB backup. Any ideas? Thanks.

I am trying to restore a backup on a new wp install and am getting this error and don´t know what to do:

Upload error (code -200) : HTTP Error. (HTTP code: 403)
The file failed to upload. Please check the following:

– Any settings in your .htaccess or web.config file that affects the maximum upload or post size.
– The available memory on the server.
– That you are attempting to upload a zip file previously created by UpdraftPlus.

Further information may be found in the browser JavaScript console, and the server PHP error logs.

Restore db BackUp in Cpanel

Hi,
I want to do a complete restore of my wp site. I may need to re-install WP. I have the Updraft Plus backup files. How do I restore the db files of my website? What is the correct method or steps to restore my website? Can you help?

MariaDB compatibility (migrations/backups/restores)?

I am just curious if UpdraftPlus is fully compatible with MariaDB for backups, restores and migrations. I realize it is a fork of MySQL but just want to confirm the compatibility with UpdraftPlus. Please advise. Thank you.

Connection error with Bucket Amazon

Hi,

When upgrading updraft plus to version 1.12.40 the connection to Amazon does not work. You receive the following error message:

Test result for S3: Failure: We can not successfully access or create this bucket. Please check your
Credentials, and if they are correct then try another bucket name (as some other S3 user may have already used your name).

The error reported by S3 was: exception
‘Guzzle \ Http \ Exception \ CurlException’ with message ‘[curl] 1: Protocol “https” not supported or disabled in libcurl [url] …

Cannot save settings

Hi,

Today I tried to save backup settings but when I clicked ‘Save Settings’ the circular icon that appears to suggest settings are being saved doesn’t finish. Even if I leave it for 5 minutes, it’s still there.

If I leave the page and come back again, no settings have been saved.

I’m trying to save my number of backups (database and files) from 2 days to 4 days.

I have recently upgraded to WooCommerce 3.0. I don’t know if that affects things, but it’s only since then that I have noticed the issue.

Is UpdraftPlus PHP 7 compatible? Seems not as it is breaking all of my sites. WTF? It’s 2017 for crying out loud and PHP 7 is the default for WP.

attempt to close the zip file returned an error

updraft Version 1.12.40
backing up sites today, all except 1 went well.
I got this message “Fri, April 7, 2017 20:16
Warning: A zip error occurred – check your log for more details.”

This is what I got on the log:

I am backing up to Amazon S3 and there is not an issue with space there.
I don’t understand if there are errors or not–and if there are how to fix it.
I was able to back up another site AFTER this one.
I have an almost identical site that I was able to backup with receiving an error message.

I appreciate your help.
(hopefully this doesn’t come through twice…I tried to submit this request before but it didn’t appear to go.)

restore from S3 corrupted zip (smaller size)

Hi there

I am migrating between hosts so ran an updraftplus backup to S3 on the first host , created a blank wordpress with only a brand new updraftplus on the new host and then tried to restore the site from S3 but got a warning:

File (backup_2017-04-09-1530_mysitehere_7021c9e70946-uploads.zip) was found, but has a different size (49696929) from what was expected (49743744) – it may be corrupt.

which then failed to fully restore.

It shows in my s3 console as 49743744 bytes and I can download it to my windows PC at the same size and unzip it without windows complaining, so looks like the backup source is OK – is there anything that can be learned from the restore logs or improved to stop updraftplus doing the same again? I would guess that if I retry the operation it will be fine, but it’s not ideal if it knew there was a problem and didn’t try to correct it.

Happy to send logs if needed but not paste on a public forum. I could also possibly download the corrupt zip and compare – it feels like the last chunk is missing judging by the sizes – does that help?

Not working backup

Hi,

I am interested in purchasing the Premium version of Updraftplus for my wordpress managed website. But I am not sure whether this is a good idea because the free version of the plugin has not been able to create any backups and sending them to my Dropbox account. Is it because I may have changed the configuration unexpectedly? The Updraftplus plugin did work well in the past but since 30 March 2017 it has done nothing. Will the paid ‘premium’ version of the Updraftplus be different?

Folder “emptydir” taking up 4 GB of space

Hello,
First off, thanks for such a great plugin!
I am trying to clear up some storage space in my web hosting server directory, and I see in the public_html/wp-content/updraft folder that the emptydir folder is taking up 4 GB of space. However, I don’t see anything in that folder.
Is that folder truly empty? How can I clear away those 4GB of space without ruining the Updraft configuration?

UpdraftPlus PHP 7 compatibility

If I activate in my website the plugin UpdraftPlus Backup and set PHP version to 7, I cannot edit my pages or posts: if I open the WordPress default editor, it works, but instead of seeing the text to be edited, I see only a blank page, as if no content was in that page or post.

If I set PHP version to 5.6 or if, while maintaining PHP 7, I disable the plugin UpdraftPlus Backup, I can normally edit my pages and posts.

Backups disappear from panel Existing Backups after being used

I noticed this with another site/install as well: When I have for instance daily backups of the database (and separate for files) from April 2th until April 16th, and then use the backup from April 12th, after restore the backups with that date are gone from the Existing Backup panel. It is still there in Dropbox, but not in that panel, so I can never use that backup again.

I cannot use the Rescan remote storage button, because I did that once with a site, and it added all backup files, including the ones from other sites.

Updraft Plus: Database restore (2 WP installations in database)

I have 2 WordPress installations under the same database table, just a different prefix.

1)
Database website2
TablePrefix wp_

2) Database website2
TablePrefix wpvoting_

Is it possible to restore the database in the 2nd installation (wpvoting_) by restoring my saved database with UpdraftPlus (via plugin) without any effects on the 1st installation (wp_)? Or will it crash my whole database? Because the 1st installation needs these values.

Why is the WP Core Not Backed-up?

Does that statement mean the WordPress core is NOT backed up? If so, how can Restore feature work? Or does the core only get backed-up by the Pro version?

What’s the thinking . . . that the core can’t possibly be corrupted so there’s no need to back it up? I don’t see how you can describe Updraft free as “fully functional” if the WordPress core is not backed-up! Please explain. Thanks!

Getting Error presumably after WP update

Something going wrong with the backup since Wp update.

While Log file says: “The backup apparently succeeded and is now complete”, progress bar is stuck at “Creating file backup zips (Plugins)”.
Backup files are created but marked as unfinished in the list.

Error restoring database backup

Hello. I recently created a backup of my database with your plugin, and soon after attempted to restore this backup to my site. However the restore failed, and I’m not sure why. Are you able to help me determine why? Here is what I know:

1. My site is on an nginx server.

2. I created the DB backup with Updraft Plus, but I did not attempt the restore. That was done by my server admin. I am not sure of his exact restore method, but I know he did *not* attempt to restore via Updraft Plus. The reason for this was that we encountered an error such that it was not possible to access the WordPress back-end.

3. I have the log file of his attempted database import, including error messages. I am happy to share this with you. But it potentially contains sensitive information, so I am hesitant to share it in this forum. Would it be possible to share it with you privately and discuss further?

I really like how easy your plugin makes it to backup my database. But if I am not able to import the backed up file, then that feature loses its value.
