hello,

It seems that theres some odd loop error in our backup, unfortunately. To solve the issue ive installed WP-Cron Events so the backup happens at 4am; and ive set so that it uses dropbox.

We run the backup weekly (today) but the site was so very slow – eventually we had to get a tech support to sort it out, we were stuck on a cron job and must have been the UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup Plugin.

Its been a great plugin, we did use the license on 2015 and we hope to use it – but could there be some issue for us? As said ive tried placing it on a 4am time and dropbox, but it seems to go into a loop. The site isnt massive (160 pages/posts) but we seem to have a lot of space used on one backup:
Web-server disk space in use by UpdraftPlus: 837.8 MB

Any solutions would be great thank you.

Hi,
I’ve tested recently the backup/restore and it works fine on my test system.
My question – does it backup WP core, assuming that I’ve checked all boxes?
I did not see any reference in the docs.

We are seeing the following error message when trying to configure Google Drive remote storage:

Bad response when contacting Google: stream_socket_client(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: No address associated with hostname stream_socket_client(): unable to connect to ssl://accounts.google.com:443 (php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: No address associated with hostname).

This seems to indicate a DNS error. The root user on the host can resolve names (including this name) just fine. Is PHP doing its own name resolution (independent from the OS) and failing?

I’ve been using Updraft for 6 months or so. It was working fine until a few months ago, and started not backing up to Dropbox, and instead the files were going to my website server. There is plenty of space on my Dropbox account so I don’t think that’s the issue.

My subscription got canceled for the vault. I need to renew the card on the account, but there is no place to do this.

1.) where can I do this?

2.) When I renew, will my previous backups in the vault be available?

3. ) Is there a way to see my previous backups in the vault for the months that did get paid? If so, how can I do that? I need to restore a back up of a site and can’t seem to access it.

I tried to restore from backup , but looks like there is no valid back , although I saw that on 28 backup was usefulness ,

anyway now all gone , during the restoration all my plugins and theme are going , the webiste is not functional

where should I look for the backup files ? I am not sure if i provide dropbox or other account

I’ve run a test with installing a restore backup. However when i’ll check my files (in filezilla) some files are renamed -old and are empty.
Can i delete those? Why are they there?

I am trying to use updraft to backup to Dropbox. It keeps telling me that the Module cURL is not installed. I have spoken with my webhost who say that is most definitely is.

I am running the most current version of the free updraft which is 1.12.40 at time of writing.

I realise that I am not using the most current version of wordpress, but I am terrified of updating that, in case if kills the rest of my site – which I can not afford to have happen.

Is there something else that I don’t know about? I get this message

Your web server’s PHP installation does not included a required (for Dropbox) module (Curl). Please contact your web hosting provider’s support and ask for them to enable it.

Hi guys,

I have a question which is really important to be solved 😉

I am a web designer and I have been thinking of purchasing the UpdraftPremium Developer (unlimited sites) so that I can install it in my customer´s sites.

Let´s imagine I install it in one of my client´s site… what´s going to happen after one year if the client wants to renew it to have access to the 1 year support/update? Is UpdraftPlus going to require the client to provide with his/her bank account details? Am I the only one who can decide whether to renew it or not and, as a consequence, provide the customer with a new 1 year of support/update?

What I don´t really want is to be charged anytime any customer renew the product I previously installed.

Have Google Drive authenticated, and get this message/error at top of UpdraftPlus settins page:

Success: you have authenticated your Google Drive account. However, subsequent access attempts failed:
required: The ‘fields’ parameter is required for this method.

Hello. Clients are complaining that their dashboards are be overrun by Updraft notices every time they log in. I’ve also verified this on my sites. Clicking on “Dismiss for 12 months” is not working.

“Thank you for backing up with UpdraftPlus!” and “Thank you for using WP-Optimize, the world’s most trusted WP optimization plugin!”

How can we make these go away, short of not using the plugin?

Hello,

I’ve been a happy user of the standard UpdraftPlus plugin for about a year now. And it has saved me several times when plugin updates created problems on my site. But I’ve just learned that in case of a hack, having a backup within my hosting account isn’t much help. Apparently, we should always have a full-site backup to a remote location.

Can someone explain exactly which folder/files I need to copy elsewhere after preforming a backup? I have access to all my files via the file manager in my cPanel. I just don’t know where to look.

I’ve previously run into a few issues with memory and plugin usage on my site.

I’m currently using 77 of 128MB for wordpress on my server… I see this plugin is around 26MB, uncompressed. Will making backups bloat this plugin and ultimately max out my memory limitations?

I moved my existing URL to a new webhost. Before moving it, I backed up with updraftplus.

I got the new hosting, installed WP, installed updraftplus.

I thought I would be able to “restore” the backup, but it would not allow me to even import the backup, giving me the error message:

“This file does not appear to be an UpdraftPlus backup archive”

Did I just screw myself over? Is there anyway to make this work? I do not have access to my old hosting, and the only copy of my old site sits in an updraftplus zip file that the new site does not recognize.

Are there any options for me on this? Paid or otherwise?
