Hello,
I had deleted some media (jpg/png) on my theme that messed up things so i am trying to recover them.
If i understand correctly the media are store in the folder name uploads?
The issue is that whenever I try to restore them I get an error page after waiting for 2-3 minutes for the serve to respond.

Hi I searched the Updraft site before I posted this but all it took me too was pages that don’t exist anymore so I am trying here.
For my backups I want to exclude certain plugins as they mess up when restored – specifically these two –
All In One WP Security
Google Captcha (reCAPTCHA) by BestWebSoft
Any idea how to accomplish that ?
Many thanks

Hi,
We just moved hosting companies and did a full restore of database after migration. The emoji have all been replaced with ???? There’s a lot of them. 😛 Is there anyway to bring these back? Is this a known issue?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I’ve authenticated to use Google Drive, I received the message “Success: you have authenticated your Google Drive account”
However, backups are being saved to my server (wp-content/updraft) instead of Google Drive.
Please assist if possible. Thanks

Hi,
in my wp-content\uploads folder, i have a custom folder called software which i wish to exclude from my fortnightly backup. However, no matter what i try it includes the files which then fills my dropbox to 100% and locks it.
Can anyone advise how they apply exclusions so i can see what i am doing wrong.
Regards
ALAN

Hi amazing folks,
you’re delivering such a great plugin – and thanks for that!!
Recently I came across a little feature request I have: I noticed a PHP warning due to my moved wp-config.php, which resides in “/path/to/”:
PHP Warning: fopen(/path/to/wp/wp-config.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /path/to/wp/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/admin.php on line 5168
You guys don’t take into account that WP supports the custom placement of wp-config.php one directory level up. This is a security feature because script kiddies usually never search one dir level up for configs. But the good guys should 🙂
Solving the PHP warning would do something like this, in admin.php:
public function get_bom_warning_text() {
$wpconfig_file = ( file_exists( ABSPATH . 'wp-config.php' ) )
? ABSPATH . 'wp-config.php'
: dirname( ABSPATH ) . DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR . 'wp-config.php'; // like wp-load.php does in core
$files_to_check = array(
$wpconfig_file,
get_template_directory().DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR.'functions.php',
);
// ...
}
Thanks again for the great backup solution!
The best,
Frank

I wish to restore the database created by Updraftplus but get an error saying it is not a restoration but migration. I dont think this is so, Updraftplus created the backup file and it is a direct restore that is required. I have pasted the warning below
Warnings:
This backup set is from a different site – this is not a restoration, but a migration. You need the Migrator add-on in order to make this work.

I manually created my AWS account as well as S3 bucket and a user with all admin privileges. I then pasted the S3 access key, the S3 secret key and the S3 location.
I then did a backup and Updraftplus reported it sucessful.
However, when I try to download any of the files for example the Database, I get error:
Error: Download failed
S3 Error: Failed to download backup_2018-06-29-0017_Commercial_Group_Facility_Servic_b0a4ba53534b-db.gz. Check your permissions and credentials.
Here you can see that I have given admin access to the user: https://shrtm.nu/axI4
I suspect this is a bit complex to troubleshoot given my limited experience with both WP as well as AWS but I’ll give it a try.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
Since this morning I’m getting this error:
PHP Fatal error (TypeError) has occurred during deleteset subaction. Error Message: Argument 1 passed to Google_Client::__construct() must be of the type array, object given, called in /var/www/clients/client0/web2/web/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/methods/googledrive.php on line 689 (Code: 0, line 92 in /var/www/clients/client0/web2/web/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/vendor/google/apiclient/src/Google/Client.php)
See it as a screenshot here:

Might there be a conflict with wp-mail-smtp plugin? Apparently it’s happening when updraft tries to upload the file to google drive (?).
Any idea?

I installed the Updraft Plus plugin, as soon as I clicked the Backup Now button, I started receiving BPS Pro quarantine notification, and kept receiving them every three minutes. Is there a way to make the Updraft Plus plugin friendly with BPS?

Updraft Plus runs for over 45 minutes then just stops without any notice. I have previously run a backup every month without problems, but now it has started doing this. I tried 3 times and wasted over 4 hours. The last backup a month ago is the only one showing on the screen and is the last entry in the log file.

Here’s the message I got after connecting with Dropbox:
Success: you have authenticated your Dropbox account (though part of the returned information was not as expected – your mileage may vary)
Dropbox error: Error in call to API function “users/get_current_account”: request body: could not decode input as JSON (400)
Currectly backing up my site and everything seems to work fine. I can see files being creating in dropbox.
Should I assume backup works fine?
Thank you!

Hello,
People visit my site and automatic backup is working well but
I get this notice.
Warning: WordPress has a number (1411) of scheduled tasks which are overdue. Unless this is a development site, this probably means that the scheduler in your WordPress install is not working. Read this page for a guide to possible causes and how to fix it.
Is there still a problem?
Thanks,

I tried to restore database that was backed up with Updraft Plus. I use Google Drive as the backup drive.
When I selected the Restore in Updraft, it looked like it was going to start – but just got hung up, showing no progress. After an hour of nothing, I stopped it (CANCEL).
Now it is telling me it cannot connect to do anything – not even view past log files. I cannot. IN my WordPress Admin, I cannot get to the Dashboard, pages, anywhere. It is like it took hold of the db and won;t give it back and won’t go through with the restore.
I found the db backup file in Google Drive but it is locked (no access). It is only 35MB – not a big file size.
