UpDraftPlus Backup – retain this many scheduled backups:

Files backup schedule: Daily and retain this many scheduled backups: 30
Database backup schedule: Daily and retain this many scheduled backups: 30

I don’t know what I was think but this was the setting a moment ago LOL!~
Seriously there needs to be a notification and warning if such settings are applied.
A simple notification might even help “Are you sure you want to backup 30 times a day?”. LOL!~
and I don’t even see that many backups being saved but I did see Cron Scheduled tasks are overdue error.

Such settings must be messing with the site performance and normal functionality. Shared Cloud Hosting.

unreadable files

Hi
Trying my first manual backup and I get a few warnings of unreadable files.

There are four warnings. One related to a plugin, another to a theme, two to uploads.

The backup completed but the warnings remain.

Will these backups restore?

Hi, Im running Updraft Bacup nad its saying its not completeing due to error:

First Backup Failure

When trying to do my first Backup I get an incomplete failure because of errors and the program keeps trying. I have selected Google Cloud for my Storage. I also failed to select the box for getting Emails. I work from home and would like to have the emails come to my email address and not the one listed.

I am going to use this plugin to duplicate my website. I have two domains on Alibaba and I will back backup my current website and restore it on the second domain (THis one will be for test proposal)
My question is, do I have to change database credential before restoring it on my second domain?
or it will automatic direct content to current database associate to this second domain?

I am not sure if it could lead me to error to have two websites using the same database.
I don’t want them on same database.

File appears to be malicious

This morning I got this message from Wordfence:

* File appears to be malicious: wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/vendor/phpseclib/phpseclib/tests/Unit/Crypt/RSA/LoadKeyTest.php

The file is dated January 30 2019. And only today it did popup as an error.

Is this file legit ? If not what should I do ? Can I delete it ?

Restore failed: …line 249…check permissions

I have successfully migrated from restoration files many times in order to move the website from development to production. Today the restoration/migration failed with the following error:

Warning: copy(): The first argument to copy() function cannot be a directory in C:\wamp64\www\mywebsite\wp-admin\includes\class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 243
Error message: Could not move old files out of the way. You should check the file ownerships and permissions in your WordPress installation (C:/wamp64/www/mywebsite/wp-content/languages)
Restore failed…

There is plenty of file space
The plugin is up to date on both dev and prod machines
I deleted cache files and turned off cache on the dev machine prior to backing up
I deleted cache files and turned off cache on the server prior to restore/migration
The “languages” folder in the error message is empty on both dev and prod
The website appears to be 100% functional even though restoration says it failed

I see others have hade the same problem but no definitive answer to how they cleared it up. The error simply mysteriously stops. Does anyone have an clear idea on how to clear up this failure to restore? Does anyone have any ideas on where to look next?

Back up freezes at 44% every time

Hello,

I was using your plugin without any issues on bluehost.

I recently switched hosting company to siteground and yesterday and today I tried to do a manual backup via my WordPress dashboard and it stays stuck at 44% everytime

Hi,

I can’t create backup. I’ve got a message: PHP event: code E_NOTICE: fgets(): failed to discard buffer. No buffer to discard (line 392, /wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/class-zip.php)

The last complete backup was 21th of January and from this time I didn’t make any changes.

Backups bring my site down

Hello. I’m having an issue with Updraft backups requiring several hours to complete, and bringing my site down during the process. I opened a ticket about this (ticket here), and one of your devs and I were making a lot of progress with troubleshooting. But he seems to have disappeared in the final step. Is there any way someone can take a look at my most recent log file (log file here) and let me know your thoughts on the possible issue?

Specifically, the dev had suggested I enable the alternate cron in WordPress, and try the backup again. I did so, but the same issues are occurring.

If you want to continue this in the other ticket, I am happy to do so.

I was sold 50 megabytes of Vault Storage and charged $175. My 5 sites used 3.5 MB, NOT GB.

However, much you confuse MB and GB, the fact is that I was taken advantage of and I am due a refund.

Updraft not backing up

I haven’t been able to get updraft to make a complete back up of my site. It gets to file 1 of 7 or 2 of 7 before it gets stuck. It’s at -1700 seconds until the next resumption. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
