Back Up not completed – error displayed –

Hello

We have been using the plugin without any issues for months.

Durinf the last 4-5 days we were unable to complete any backup while we get the following error message:

PHISHING URL in UpdraftPlus file

FOR GENERAL INFORMATION:

The following file was correctly found in UPDRAFTPLUS by Wordfence this morning as containing a blacklisted URL:

Details: This file contains a URL that is a suspected phishing site that is currently listed on Google’s list of known phishing sites. The URL is: http://login.microsoftonline.de/common/oauth2/v2.0/authorize

If you try to load this page, a RED WARNING from Google appears, saying that this is a phishing URL.

I’m awaiting a response from Updraft Plus regarding the issue.

Warning and backup not completed

When I tried to backup, I got this warning and the backup did not finish.

“Warning: Table wp_woocommerce_sessions has very many rows (22397708) – we hope your web hosting company gives you enough resources to dump out that table in the backup If not, you will need to either remove data from this table, or contact your hosting company to request more resources.”

I’m not sure what this means or how to work around it? What is the easiest solution?

Hi,
I was trying to do a backup since yesterday and it was failing repeatedly. I tried to change to onedrive as the backup destination, but it was not able to authenticate. Now on my host there are multiple files generated which is eating space and I have got a warning from my host.

Do I need this file how can I delete them.

or will a successful backup delete them.

@bcrodua replied that they need the backup log in order to review the issue. We attached the backup log and nobody is replying.

We are having a problem with one of our websites which is not doing backups properly and we would like to solve it but it seems nobody is offering support here…

Cannot dismiss welcome message

Hello!

I have installed Updraft Backup for over a month and it seems to be working just great with one small, but nagging problem. I cannot seem to dismiss the welcome message “Thank you for installing UpdraftPlus! Super-charge and secure your WordPress site with our other top plugins:…..”. I can press Dismiss (12 months), the messsage goes away, but I get it back when logging again. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Best way to confirm backup viability

Hi there,

I’m a new user and not a tech expert.

I’ve set up a WordPress page via Amazon Lightsail.

Several places recommend that I use this plugin for backup.

I’ve installed it and all went super smooth. I’ve backed up to my Dropbox, and I see several zip files have been created there.

My question: What is the simplest way to validate these backups? In other words, I want to be sure that they will actually work if/when the time comes that I need to use them. I imagine I could set up another lightsail instance and restore the files there using the paid version of this plugin, but I’m thinking someone might offer advice on a simpler option?

Errors despite saving to Dropbox

Trying to manually run backups and getting errors including the below. I don’t know why this would be a quota issue as these are backed up to dropbox and I have an enormous amount of space.

Authenticate with Dropbox programmatically

Hey team,

is there a way to authenticate with the API credentials to Dropbox programmatically? I found this code snippet which does not seem to work:

Is this possible? I have used it in a custom plugin and tried creating a MU plugin with the code to no avail. Still requires me to manually click the link when selecting dropbox.

Any chances I can automize this?

Updraft Plus Backups Take a Long Time

The upload file get more and more bigger

Hi

I get the upload file size more and more bigger, but my website doesn’t add new products and new images.

The first time for the backup, the upload file has only 2 or 3 files only, but now has 15 files for the upload, and continuer gets more and more, this is not normal.

How to auto-update free version of UpdraftPlus plugin?

Hello,

I manage close to 40 client websites. We use Updraft to run backups on all of them. Some use UpdraftPlus Premium, some use free (clients chose this, I have no control).

We also use Companion Auto Update plugin to perform automatic updates of all plugins on the websites we manage. The plugin is unable to auto-update UpdraftPlus. The plugin’s author said the plugin cannot update Updraft – he suggests we go into Updraft settings and select to have Updraft update itself automatically from within Updraft settings. Ok , I can do this. Except…

I have found where to do this on Premium versions of Updraft (Premium/Extensions tab), but on the free version of UpdraftPlus I cannot find where to do this. Can you tell me where would the auto-update option be on the free version of Updraft Plus?

I use the free Updraft plus plugin and today I needed to upload Htaccess file
in the root directory.
When I searched for it in the updraft 5 files, I could not find it.
Could it be that Updraftplus not making a backup of the root directory?

“Your paid access to UpdraftPlus updates for this site has expired.” – I cant get rid of the message. Sometimes there is a “dismiss for 2 weeks” link and the message still shows up anyway.

WTF? For 2 weeks?

I don’t want your advertisings in my admin area anymore.

Hi,

I am confused. For years and years I have been using BackupBuddy. But for a client I installed UpdraftPlus (she has very little money so couldn’t afford BB).

I have now created a backup of her site. But I don’t see anything about installing that backup anywhere else but on the hosting and domain she is already using.

Can’t I install it on my local server or on another hoster/domain?

My last successful backup was in January 2019. On February 19, 2019 I attempted a backup with DEBUG MODE on. I received an email with the log file attached and can see the line announcing the first instance of an error(but, not exactly what the error is). I deleted unused files on Dropbox, but the backup appears to be exceeding the usage quota. I don’t know how to give you access to that most recent log file. It may be obvious from the log file that I require more space on Dropbox (I didn’t in January). Would like to know exactly what is causing problem before I pursue solution with Dropbox upgrade. Thank you for your help.

Hi,
I’m trying to restore a backup on a different site (migration). To perform the task I will follow three step:
1)Backup site with UpdraftPlus
2)Restore on new domain
3)Search&Replace in DB + wp-config tuning

Step 1) Is fine.
Step 2) Is impossible! I first had a problem with big files (Upload or Plugin folder 78Mb zipped, 251 unzipped) so I limited the backup size to 50MB. I had to repeat several times the restore, but at last it says “success”. But I have the same problem (impossible copy file) with a very small folder like Themes. No password reset option

I purchased a theme several months ago that had this included with it as a recommended plugin… unfortunately its locked with a password but it was not set by us but perhaps the website that created the theme?

There’s no record of there ever being one and now that I want to use that plugin to start doing backups, it will not let me go anywhere. I tried the wp-config “fix” but it made no change at all still locked. I read that you can’t uninstall / reinstall to fix.

Is there not a way to email a password reset rather than having to pay a technician to unlock it?
