Hi,

I encounter a problem after importing a redesign of my site. Updraft worked well in conjunction with Dropbox.
After importing I put the settings back on my site, but for Updraft (which is up to date) there is a problem:
cannot configure weekly backups. It recognizes my dropbox well. But it loops when I want to save the settings. In addition it gives me 2 old backups that I cannot remove (this marks me ‘Deletion’ in a loop but nothing happens). When I run a scan (local or remote) it loops and gets stuck indefinitely. I uninstalled the plugin and deleted the data in my FTP, nothing helps. He gives me each time these backups which correspond to the old versions of my site.
I can’t make a backup either. In the ‘Advanced tools’ tab I deleted the settings, it didn’t work.
Can you help me ?

Hi,

I use Google Drive for my backups and notice I can connect UpdraftPlus to my Google account in 2 ways:

1) In a few steps, as described here.
2) I can also create a new project in my Google account, as described here. This contains many steps.

So I understand that plugin now has its own app in Google Drive (option 1).
But when should I choose for option 2?

Good Day!

Every time we try to update a plugin, we get this modal or pop-up (generated by UpdraftPlus).

We have researched this forum and elsewhere and noticed many other users are experiencing the same (or similar) problem.

The current solution provided by UpdraftPlus works only when updating plugins directly (Method 1) as shown here. However, it does not work when first viewing the plugin version update details (Method 2) (also shown here).

To reproduce the issue, perform the following:

(1) Go to WP Dashboard > Updates > Plugins (details)

(2) Click on the plugin revision details link (details)

(3) On the next screen, click “Install Update Now” (details)

(4) UpdraftPlus pop-up appears when we click on “Install Update Now.” (details)

Above is annoying. We do not need to see this pop-up every time we update a plugin using the method described above.

Yes, we’ve tried your current solution, resetting our settings, clearing cache, and even re-installing your plugin. Still, the pop-up appears. Definitely a bug or code issue.

Please provide a fix (code snippet, update plugin code, etc).

I link updraft to AWS and when scan remote storage, it shows as below:

Hello,
My backups are failing, and I am not receiving any notification of it.
In the logfile, it says:
> No email will/can be sent – the user has not configured an email address
But I have an email address configured for the site admin (in Settings -> General).
Where is Updraft looking for an email? How do I give it an email address to let me know when the backup is failing?

Hi! I’ve been having some trouble restoring my site.

I did a backup with UpdraftPlus. Then I moved my site to another hosting company, but keeping the same URL. Then I installed WordPress and UpdraftPlus again, uploaded via FTP my backups and restored first the uploads, then the themes, plugins, others and finally database.

After restoring database I couldn’t access my WP admin anymore. I’ve tried this many time now. Any idea why this is happening?

Also, the site doesn’t display as before.

Backup failure, keep getting this message:

The attempt to close the zip file returned an error (). List of files we were trying to add follows (check their permissions). (Mar 26 13:35:21)

Updraft has got very slow lately backing up my data. I keep getting a message saying:-
To decrease the likelihood of overlaps, increasing resumption interval to: 317 + 45 = 362 (Mar 15:35:12)
I have looked in the settings but can’t find anywhere to change this. Could you please advise where I find this setting?

I have the free version of Updraft. My site was hacked and is no longer available. I plan to use the manual process of restoring my Updraft backups. I don’t know what version of WordPress was installed. Will that make a difference on my ability to restore properly?

UpdraftPlus worked perfectly up until about a week ago with copying the backup to Google Drive. All of a sudden, it would hang in the middle of uploading the ZIP files. No plugins have been updated on my WP site. I have done a few tests:

– Uninstalled/reinstalled UpdraftPlus (did not wipe settings, though)
– Switched to Dropbox for remote storage; this works perfectly, no problems
– De-authorized UpdraftPlus with Google and re-authorized
– Changed the split from 400mb to 100mb
– No problem backing up and copying just the databases; it is when I do both files AND databases the copying to Google Drive hangs.

I’m new to buildning a wp site and have just created a simple one so far. Using Elementor. I’m also using Wamp to run it locally. I installed UpdraftPlus, but when backing up it get stuck in the process. It starts to uploa files to google drive, but stops. And then it exit.

What could have gone wrong? Thanks.

Hello I have literally been trying all day to backup my site. Each time it just says it cant be backed up due to an error.

Now the backup process is stuck and the text in the blue bar reads “purning old backup sets”. And the msg under “Log log message” reads “The backup attempt has finished, apparently unsuccessfully (Mar 29 17:21:20)

I downloaded my log but i dont know how to attach it to this comment of mine…..Anything you can suggest to get my UpdraftPlus working? Super frustrated at this point.

I’ll be handing over administration of a site I’ve been backupping to Dropbox, and it seems I cannot get rid of the connection to Dropbox.

Ever since I OK’ed Dropbox as a destination, admins could use the “scan remote storage” button to list all backup files on Dropbox of ALL sites where I use Updraft.
With that overview comes the possibility to DELETE those backups.
That was ok as long as I was the only admin, but that is no longer the case.

I understand it’s inherent to the way access to Dropbox is built, where the app gets access and not the app+site.
I tried deleting and reinstalling the plugin without luck.

Based on what I now know, it seems Updraft cannot be used in a business scenario with remote storage to e.g. Dropbox or Amazon.

How can I remove access for this site, or just even empty the list?

Hello,

I am trying to clean up the options table of our site which runs Updraft plus.

I have quite a few entries in the wp_options table that look like this –

updraft_lock_d885e4663aeb

What do these entries do and is it safe to remove them?

Also, I see many records in wp_options for updraft plus that are autoloaded. Is it really necessary to load all of this stuff on every page on the front end of our site and what is the impact if I turn autoload off for all of the updraft plus entries? Are there any that are critical for have the autoload option remain on?

I love updraft Plus…
But today I just realised that sometimes it has a weird funcitonning.

My bakcups are made on my NAS via FTP… but sometimes… and I don’t know why, the backup is saved on my wordpress instalation in : /wp-content/updraft
For Example, in march, 23/03, 24/03, 25/03, 28/03, 30/03 => FTP on my NAS
but 26/03, 27/03 and 29/03 => saved here /wp-content/updraft

Any idea why it does that ?
